Assassin's Creed Reveals Bizarre AoT Crossover for Holiday Season

In a bizarre partnership that challenges conventional predictions, Ubisoft has unveiled an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering no-cost additional story content for Shadows players.

Strange Mission Uncovered

According to the formal announcement, "A mysterious confrontation pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original quest, where whispers of banned ceremonies and terrifying changes reverberate through the darkness." The plot introduces a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who charges the duo with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to save her ally from a secret group.

The adventure concentrates on "strange tests and a monstrous foe" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Locations and Transformations

The preview features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer finishes with a powerful sequence showing a character, probably the captive, changing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Unique Items and Bonus Content

Players who successfully complete the adventure will obtain an exclusive katana together with multiple items secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

• Mikasa outfit for Naoe
• Special arms
• Survey Corps mount

Third Free Story Content

This update also brings the game's third no-cost story content, titled "The Enigma." This lighthearted mission partners Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange characteristic skills: Naoe introduces a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a original environmental puzzle that may ultimately shed light on some lingering questions from the main storyline.

This signifies not the first time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with famous anime series. The series formerly included a 2020 crossover story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
