Heads-up: Key plot points for the latest installment of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Warrior Group Revealed
The third episode ended with a major cliffhanger and revealed the first table of adventurers who will split off from the main group to begin their separate journey, separate from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table includes Teor (brought to life by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
With a large ensemble, it was clear from the outset that having everyone at one table would be impossible.
This explains, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Prelude, intertwining the characters’ stories before splitting into three smaller tables: Fighters, Strategists, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Combat Party
According to the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for players who are drawn to a classically intense battle-oriented story mode where non-violent answers are rare.
Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might appear unsuited, but the events of episode 3 make it clear why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
First, the team understands precisely where to head next after a brutal first encounter with the antagonists.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose death started the campaign’s events—used the foes for his selfish purposes, invading the hidden lair, attacking Thimble, and stealing all the powerful objects to dispose of.
Casimir then paid off his liabilities and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, north of the city, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each character has a specific drive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, seeks retribution.
- The adventurer knows the northern area and warns that it is a nasty location.
- Tyranny and The healer, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to execute Teor and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their status as key figures in the influential clan could enable the team enter locations they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, The fighter swore a life debt to Wicander for his rescue and will now accompany him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are hunted by the rulers that rule Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- Thimble and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and Wicander turned against the powerful family and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the family.
This leaves them few options but to travel to Timmony in quest for the antagonist.
