Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hard surfaces

A comeback the Russian player claimed his first trophy for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the competition final.

Medvedev, a ex- number one, has had a torrid period, managing just one win at the Grand Slams and suffering a setback at the New York tournament.

The player's varied form on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his service game in especial - caused him exiting of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with long-time mentor his previous coach.

Presently collaborating with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently progressed in the recent weeks - peaking in a hard-fought three-set win over Frenchman Moutet.

This marks his first championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard court since that period of that year.

The win also indicates he has achieved twenty-one victories at 21 different competitions.

"For the first time I'm at a competition with my both daughters together, so to win a championship is really nice," stated world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in honour of my second daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I won when my older daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his past six finals, comprising in that event previously this season.

Medvedev's defensive approach and regular outbursts on court had caused commentators to question if his capacity to play at the top level was over.

But the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, striving to come to the net and play assertively, reinforced by an improved serve.

The champion fought back from a deficit in the first set against the challenging opponent, securing four of the final five exchanges to gain the advantage.

The competitors swapped service breaks in the second set before Moutet, attempting for his maiden ATP Tour victory, took control to force a final set.

The opponent defended 4 early-game chances in a tight deciding set before the Russian won the break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Appropriately, he earned victory with a shot at the front of the court, with his opponent incapable to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
